Helsinki conference on emotions, Populism and Polarisation
in Politics, Media, and Culture, 19-21 August 2019, Helsinki, Finland
We have the pleasure to invite you to the first Helsinki Conference on emotions, populism and polarisation, called "Emotions, Populism and Polarised Politics, Media, and Culture", taking place at the University of Helsinki, Finland. Our conference on Monday and Tuesday 19-20 August with a supplementary day on Wednesday 21 August explores the link between emotions and populism, polarising politics and how they spill over to media and culture. The aim of the conference is to bring together a variety of international researchers at all career stages dealing with a broad range of topics that employ a post-structuralist and/or post-foundational approach to critical inquiry. The conference seeks to address different issues from both theoretical and empirical perspectives, especially those exploring the intersection of different positionalities and challenging bounded national contexts.
