Hosted by the Aleksanteri Institute at the University of Helsinki, the conference will take place from October 23–25, 2024, at the City Centre Campus of the University of Helsinki. Registration is open until October 14.
This year’s conference will feature a rich and diverse program, including keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking events. Key highlights include:
- Opening Address by Frank Johansson, Director of Amnesty International Finland.
- Keynote Lectures by distinguished experts Jennifer Gandhi, Diana T. Kudaibergen, Gwendolyn Sasse, and Benjamin Nathans.
- Seven Panel Presentation Sessions, offering in-depth discussions on critical issues related to civil society, authoritarianism, and new forms of solidarity across Eurasia.
- A City Hall Reception, hosted by the City of Helsinki at one of Helsinki’s most iconic historical venues.
In addition to the core academic program, participants are invited to join a guided tour of Helsinki, providing a unique opportunity to explore the city’s academic and cultural heritage. A special visit to the Slavonic Library, one of the world’s largest collections of Russian, Eurasian, and Eastern European literature, will also be offered.
