Master level
There are many ways to specialise in Russian, Eurasian and Eastern European Studies.

The Master’s Programme in Russian, Eurasian, and Eastern European Studies, MAREEES (previously the Master’s Programme in Russian Studies) equips students with in-depth knowledge of past, present and future challenges of countries anchored to an area specific development. The programme is provided entirely in English.

Aleksanteri Institute is also a coordinator of Expertise in Russian and Eastern European Studies, ExpREES, a non-degree programme that brings together Master's level courses available at the network of 12 Finnish universities. You can embed the ExpREES module into the MA degree granted by your home university. During its more than 20 years of existence, the ExpREES has seen hundreds of students graduate and build a career in academia, politics, the public sector and business.

If you wish to specialize in East Central European, Balkan and Baltic Studies or Ukrainian Studies, this is also possible at graduate level.
