The City Centre Campus covers a large area right in the centre of Helsinki. Most of the university buildings are situated near Fabianinkatu and Unioninkatu but some are a little farther. On the City Centre Campus, the focus is on the human sciences. The faculties have their own research and teaching focus areas, so students have many opportunities to explore a multitude of human sciences issues. The City Centre Campus also features a great deal of cross-faculty cooperation in terms of studies and research.
In addition City Centre Campus houses Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies, Helsinki University Library, Helsinki University Museum, Language Centre, the Natural History Museum, the National Library of Finland, and Think Corner.
The campus includes several buildings with a wide variety of lecture halls some of which were already in use in the 19th Century. Some of the buildings are available for general booking. You can find more information about some the buildings and booking instructions following the link on the right.
The City Centre Campus is in the very heart of Helsinki, so it offers a broad range of services and attractions.

In addition the City Centre Campus is home to Think Corner – an open arena for discussion and coworking, a forum for science and research, widely popular Museum of Natural History, the exhibition of Helsinki University Museum on the third floor of the University’s Main Building, the Helsinki Observatory on Tähtitorninmäki Hill as well as the excellent Botanic Garden in Kaisaniemi.
