The title of doctor honoris causa is the University’s highest recognition for a private person. The traditional insignia, a Finnish doctor's hat and a sword, are given out in person during a solemn conferment ceremony.
Granting the title
Titles are granted in connection with the conferment ceremonies of each faculty. Conferment ceremonies are usually organised in every 2-5 years depending on the Faculty.
