Porlammin meijeri dairy has developed two vegan cheese alternatives with 13 % and 9 % of fermented protein that you can now taste at the Viikki Local Food Fair!
These cheese alternatives are based on technology created by Locusia. Dr. Mokhtari from University of Helsinki, Department of Microbiology has been involved in the industrial trials of these vegan cheese alternative products.

Zestii cooks provide delicious international food experiences using locally sourced ingredients at our collaborative cafe "Dash Coffee & Zestii Kitchens" in Kallio for weekday lunch and weekend brunches. We also cater to events and organize food related workshops.

Mycelium is the root like structure of fungi. Mycelia from edible mushrooms have been grown in Viikki's Food and Nutrition department's Sensory Laboratory and basement corridors since 2017. In 2023, the MyShroom team won a food systems pitching competition at the Slush Y-Science side event with the MyShroom product innovation - and now you have the chance to taste what the future may taste like!
We believe in fungi as an ethical and ecological food alternative that is diplomatically between animals and plants. Even though our product does not yet have a novel food authorization, the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Helsinki has granted permission to provide tastings of it at University events.
