The Laakkonen Lab. is a proud member of the FiBTRA, a gathering of clinicians and basic scientists that push forward the understanding and therapeutic management of brain tumors in Finland.

Our laboratory is focusing on identification of metastasis/invasion associated molecules using phage display technology and two dimensional gel electrophoresis from three different cancer-related models:

  • cultured metastatic vs. non-metastatic human breast cancer cells
  • primary human leukemic stem cells and human glioblastoma models.
