October 15: Translation Studies reading group. Prof. Emeritus Andrew Chesterman leads the discussion on Anthony Pym's article "A spirited defense of a certain empiricism in Translation Studies" and Karen Bennett's' "Manifesto homeopático". Discussion both in English and in Finnish is welcome.
November 26: Translation Studies meets Language Technology. Prof. Jörg Tiedemann’s team (MeMad Project) visits the Translation Studies Research Seminar. The goal is to explore what language technology and machine translation have to offer to each other. Discussion in English.
