Methods for computational and digital social sciences

Our research in the intersection of computing and social sciences push us to critically investigate and develop methods for social scientists. This page documents publications, source code and tools we have developed.
Cross-service label agreement score (COSLAB)

To analyse the content of large set of images, image recognition systems allow transforming them to set of labels. However, our research suggests that image recognition services may widely differ on the outcoming labels. Therefore, we have developed a measurement to assess the cross-service label agreement score applying word embeddings.

Examining image circulation

We have developed a workflow to identify how images circulate within Facebook groups and between Facebook groups and the wider internet.

Please contact Matti to get a dump of the code file while we polish the code for publication.
