Practical information for traveling:

  • Helsinki-Vantaa airport is the main airport for global and domestic flights in Finland. It is easily accessible by bus, train, or taxi.
  • Ringrail trains I and P as well as bus 600 operate between the Helsinki-Vantaa airport and the main railway station (city center).
  • The Journey Planner of the public transport includes maps, routes and ticket purchasing options: https://www.hsl.fi/en Downloading the mobile phone app “HSL” is recommended.
  • In the city center area, you will need to buy a ticket for zones AB, but for the airport you will need a ticket for zones ABC.
  • You can buy tickets with the mobile phone app "HSL", from a vending machine, or from “R-kioski“ shops.
  • Taxi prices are unregulated in Finland, so they can vary a lot. It is always best to ask the price from a driver before the ride. The normal price between the airport and city center is between 35 and 60 euros.
  • Link to city of Helsinki web site: https://www.hel.fi/en
  • Location of the Bachelors School, Unioninkatu 38, is in the city center. Several hotels exist in surrounding area. If you arrive from further region, the building is close to Kaisaniemi metro station, the main railway station, tram stops, as well as and many bus stops.
