Year 2024 started nicely, when our manuscript was published at Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. In the article, we presented a novel type of PREP ligands, based on 5-aminothiazole structure, and very importantly, that they bind to a novel binding pocket in PREP. This appears to be more important for protein-protein interactions, such as alpha-synuclein aggregation and autophagy induction. The study was done in collaboration with researchers in University of Antwerp, Belgium, and University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio.
