Docent and Post-doc Dr. Vimalkumar Balasubramanian receives a research grant

The University of Helsinki awarded a three-year (2018–2020) research grant to the project: "Biomimetic protocells to restore injured cells in heart: towards personalized medicine" at the Faculty of Pharmacy

Many congrats to my post-doc, Dr. VimalKumar Balasubramanian, who just got a Three-year research grant (2018-2020) at University of Helsinki, Faculty of Pharmacy, worth 150 k€ to initiate his own independent scientific career and build-up his own group!

This is the second time in a row my post-docs receive such grants to initiate their independent carrier, last year it was Dr. Dongfei Liu.

The Rector has decided, on 23 November 2017, to award funding for 17 research projects for the years 2018–2020. In total,  2.55 million euros was awarded for the projects. The call for three-year research grants of the University consists of two stages. In the first stage, applicants submitted letters of intent. A total of 111 letters of intent were submitted during the first round, and 29 full proposals during the second round of the call. The grants for three-year research projects are intended for promising researchers of the University of Helsinki. The funding is aimed to support future research leaders who are starting to conduct independent research and establishing a research group at the University of Helsinki. (Source UH intranews).
