Transnational Lived Citizenship Later in Life

Everyday Practices of Belonging by Older Russian-Speaking Migrants in Finland
About

Anastasia Asikainen's subproject, a doctoral thesis, explores the challenges faced by Russian-speaking migrants (65+) who moved to Finland later in life. The study, at the intersection of migration, ageing, and third sector studies, collected empirical data from a meeting place for this group in the capital area of Finland. The research focuses on groupness negotiations, critical observations of integration means for older migrants, and interdependences of families and the third sector.
