Based in the University of Helsinki, the MICA research group is part of the tri-university Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care (CoE AgeCare). MICA undertakes in-depth research on ageing migrants and migrant care workers, analysing various aspects of their lives, such as social ties, health and well-being, citizenship, and migration trajectories. Through a thorough exploration of the experiences of older migrants, MICA's research sheds light on the understudied lives of this demographic.
