Movements of populations, objects and ideas across temporal and spatial borders had a fundamental significance in the diffusion of knowledge that shaped the medieval world. This interdisciplinary symposium explores the multifaceted ways in which such dynamic processes of translocation influenced and molded social, cultural and intellectual networks; investigates the underlying material and epistemic conditions that facilitated such exchanges throughout the medieval period; and reflects on the methods by which we may study these subjects.
