LECI researchers presented their research on young people's civic engagement and media literacy skills in three European countries

LECI researchers Anu Kajamaa and Sharon Laine presented the results of their research on supporting young people's civic engagement and media literacy skills in Finland, Norway and Romania on April 28th, 2023 in a training event for youth workers in Tampere, organized by The Finnish Society on Media Education (FSME).

The Finnish Society on Media Education (FSME) organized a training event for youth workers in Tampere on April 28, 2023, aiming at strengthening young people's media skills, active citizenship and social influence. Professor Anu Kajamaa and project researcher Sharon Laine presented the results of their ongoing research on supporting young people's civic engagement and media literacy skills. The survey they carried out in in Finland, Norway, and Romania is related to their project "Enhancing young People's media literacy for Civic engagement" funded by Erasmus + (Strategic Partnerships for youth). FSME is involved in the project, and the goal of the organized training was to increase the understanding of those working with young people about the media world of young people and to strengthen their capabilities to support young people's media literacy skills, especially from the perspective of social influence and civic engagement.
