The study produces new scientific knowledge about the contribution of work and other areas of life to health, functioning, and well-being. This evidence can be used in efforts to maintain and improve health and functioning also after transition to retirement.
Helsinki Health Study has monitored the health of City of Helsinki employees since the early 2000s with follow-up surveys conducted every five years. The latest follow-up survey was conducted in the spring of 2022. The survey questionnaire included questions on health and social relations as well as the working conditions of those who are employed.
