Climate change, tree ecophysiology
My research focuses on how the changing climate affects wintertime physiology of trees. Particularly I am currently studying the effect of freezing and thawing on trees and the future concenquences of global warming in the northern forests.
Methane cycling in a Northern Boreal Watershed
My thesis topic is studying methane cycling in a Northern Boreal Watershed. As part of this project, I am conducting chemical and microbial analysis. Methane is a powerful greenhouse gas and understanding its cycles in an important part of calculating global budgets and the impact it has on climate change.
Master’s thesis research with Environmental Soil Science Unit, University of Helsinki, Methane and Nitrous Oxide Cycles in Forests group
