University of Helsinki Data Support reviews and advises on the preparation of data management plans to be submitted to funders. You can find materials for current training sessions on this website.

At the application stage, all applicants should briefly describe their data management in a separate short data management plan and describe their publication plans.

Data Support and the Library's Open Access team support applicants for funding from the Research Council of Finland as follows. Around the time of the Winter Search 2025, Data Support and the OA team will organise webinars The presentations  the presentations can be found below: 

The researcher will only make the actual data management plan after a positive funding decision. The plan must be submitted to the Research Council of Finland's SARA system within eight weeks of the funding decision. According to the University of Helsinki's policy, the Data Management Plans are checked by the Data Support before submission to the Research Council. During the actual preparation of the Data Management Plan, Data Support organises DMP workshops and provides personal advice on the preparation of DMPs.
