RESDOC Project – Training Doctoral Excellence for Resilient and Just Future

RESDOC (Resilient and Just Systems Doctoral Project) is an international doctoral training project at the University of Helsinki in Finland. It brings together interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral research to address major global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and infectious diseases.

RESDOC runs from 2027 to 2030 and offers a unique opportunity to complete a fully funded doctoral degree at the University of Helsinki in Finland.

A total of 30 doctoral researchers will be recruited in 2026. The international call for applications is open until 31 August 2026.

RESDOC brings together research across four interdisciplinary themes addressing global sustainability and health challenges. These themes cover areas such as infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance, biodiversity and nature’s resilience, sustainable food and water systems, and just socio-ecological transition.

The project combines excellent academic research with collaboration across sectors, connecting academia, the public sector and industry. Doctoral researchers work in an international environment and contribute to developing solutions for complex real-world challenges.
