InterEarth – a profiling action led by the Faculty of Science, aimed at becoming a world-leading hub for integrative environmental research.
Focusing on the interactions and feedbacks between all Earth components – the biosphere, the hydrosphere, the geosphere and the atmosphere – with AI analysis of comprehensive data from the eight research stations of University of Helsinki.
The key infrastructure for InterEarth is the supersites that have co-located measurements of different Earth components.
The University of Helsinki supersites include the Värriö, Kilpisjärvi, Hyytiälä, Lammi, Muddusjärvi and Tvärminne research field stations and the Viikki research farm in Finland, and the Taita research station in Kenya.
The supersites, together with the extensive Luomus
InterEarth supersites include Finnish national nodes of 6 European Research Infrastructures.
