The Greek philosopher Aristotle (384–322 BCE) studied not only humans but also nature and other species of animals. In this project, we will explore in a multidisciplinary way how Aristotle investigates the diversity of the animals and how his observations have influenced later research tradition and understanding of animals. In addition, we will translate four of Aristotle's works focusing on animal studies into Finnish and provide them with comprehensive explanations based on Aristotle's thinking.
