Team

The core team of the project consists of the following experts.
Minna Ruckenstein

Minna Ruckenstein (principal investigator) is Professor of Emerging Technologies in Society at the University of Helsinki. She is an internationally recognized expert on societal aspects of algorithmic systems, and has successfully managed broad multi-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder projects.

Tuukka Lehtiniemi

Tuukka Lehtiniemi is a researcher at University of Helsinki, with a PhD in economic sociology. He pursues conceptually ambitious qualitative research on datafication and automation and seeks to integrate a socio-critical stance with a constructive approach to produce both academic and practical insights.

Juuli Hilska

Juuli Hilska is a sociologist with a background in co-creation methods and design thinking. She currently works as a strategy consultant at Noren, promoting client insights (B2B & B2C) and integrating them into strategic decisions, product development, and service and product concepts. Hilska also serves as a lead facilitator in client projects and she is responsible for driving a participatory strategic approach in creating product visions and building a company-wide strategic vision.

Joonas Aitonurmi

Joonas Aitonurmi works as a senior specialist in the Finnish Digital Agency aka the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. He is in charge of the Agency's strategic foresight and research cooperation. He is also a doctoral researcher in the University of Helsinki, where he studies the value of digital public infrastructure. Before joining the government agency, Joonas worked as a journalist (covering tech, Silicon Valley and science) and communication specialist, especially in the field of science.
