The Late Roman-Byzantine Fort of Tabus

The identification of the fort of Tabus is not certain, but the site of Alalis in the Ptolemy’s Geography has been suggested.

The architecture and associated finds point to the latest rebuilding and use in the Byzantine era, apparently as an initiative by the Emperor Justinian I.
