Expression of interest to join Urbaria – Helsinki Institute of Urban and Regional Studies

Helsinki Institute of Urban and Regional Studies, Urbaria, is the first multi-disciplinary urban research unit in Finland (read more in helsinki.fi/urbaria).  As a majority of the world's population lives in cities, a major part of all social phenomena, problems and amenities will take on an urban form and challenge the existing regional structures. The institute aims to tackle  complex urban and regional development challenges by research and education. Furthermore, the institute provides a forum for multidisciplinary discussions. It combines the long-standing academic excellence of research in the University of Helsinki with emerging transdisciplinary collaborations with cities and other actors. The research focuses on three interlinking fields: places, people and politics in an international setting.

Urbaria is now gathering experts in the University of Helsinki, who are working in the field of urban and regional studies and interest in joining Urbaria Community and Urbaria activities.

If you have already applied and received the HELSUS KATI membership, you will automatically be joint to the Urbaria Community.
