Leo Mechelin Award and Keynote Speech
In 2022, the Rule of Law Centre, in collaboration with the Leo Mechelin Foundation, announced the annual Leo Mechelin Keynote Lecture as a core part of the Rule of Law Day programme. The Leo Mechelin Medal of Honour is jointly awarded by the Board of the Rule of Law Centre and the Board of the Leo Mechelin Foundation to a distinguished proponent of the rule of law. The recipient will give the Leo Mechelin Keynote Speech at the event.
Thematic Fireside Meetings
Participants will engage in thematic fireside meetings, focusing on challenges and opportunities in developmental cooperation and rule of law.
Strategy Publication
The Rule of Law Day will culminate with the unveiling of the Rule of Law Centre's new strategy for 2024–2028. This part of the program will be conducted in Finnish and outlines the Centre's vision for utilizing Finnish expertise in strengthening the rule of law within the broader framework of developmental cooperation.

The event is free and open to the public, and attendees may participate either in person at the University of Helsinki's Central Campus or online.
