It practices and promotes research in European Studies from a variety of perspectives. The Centre is also responsible of the EU study module, the international Master's program on European and Nordic Studies (ENS). The Centre represents the University of Helsinki at the international Europaeum university network.
The Centre works as a host unit for researchers and multidisciplinary research projects, as it regularly hosts seminars and conferences. One of the Centre's purposes is to support researchers' international connections.
