European Studies Day

The Centre for European Studies (CES) at the University of Helsinki will host the European Studies Day on 11 May 2026. The event brings together researchers of European and EU studies from different disciplines in Finland to present recent research and to meet and network with colleagues.
Call for papers: European Studies Day in the University of Helsinki, 11 May 2026

The Centre for European Studies (CES) in the University of Helsinki hosts a European Studies Day in the University of Helsinki, 11 May 2026. The day brings together researchers of European and EU studies working across different disciplines in Finland. The purpose of the event is to offer an academic platform for researchers to present recent research on the topic, and for meeting and networking with colleagues.

The one-day event will take place on 11 May 2026, at the University of Helsinki. The programme includes:

  • A keynote lecture: ,"How Europe Survives: Adaptability and Resilience of a Content in Peril"
  • Sessions about European and EU studies research in Finland

The European Studies Day is open to all researchers of European studies across disciplines. The event is free of charge but requires registration, except for the keynote lecture which is open to everyone.

 

Would you like to give a presentation in the seminar? Projects and researchers can propose their own work to be presented at the seminar. Both individual papers and panel proposals are welcome.

The proposals for presentations are made using the following form by 28 February 2026: . Those who have submitted a proposal will be contacted by 30 March 2026.

It is also possible to participate without giving a presentation. The registration without a presentation should be done by 30 March 2026: .
