Pirkko Mattila, Head of FIMM Technology Centre

Dr. Pirkko Mattila was appointed as the new Research Director and Head of FIMM Technology Centre in February 2023. Dr. Mattila has been leading the FIMM RNAseq and single cell analytics services and has extensive experience in these technology areas.

FIMM Digital Microscopy and Molecular Pathology Unit

The digital microscopy and molecular pathology unit provides high throughput whole-slide scanning services for all customers. We offer quick, high-quality and cost-efficient wide-field microscope imaging for bright field and fluorescence.

FIMM Genomics

FIMM Genomics provides DNA/RNA sequencing services for national and international researchers. Our primary focus is on medical genomics and transcriptomics including primary analysis of the sequencing data.

FIMM High Content Imaging and Analysis Unit

FIMM-HCA Unit provides access and assistance with a top-notch high-content confocal imaging device. Their expertise ranges from imaging a single micro-well plate or fluorescent slide to screening hundreds of plates under the same conditions, as well as imaging 3D volumes of cell systems and live cells.

FIMM High Throughput Biomedicine

HTB Unit provides services and expertise in lab automation, cell-based and biochemical high-throughput screening, and access to chemical and siRNA libraries and data analysis for local, national, and international users.

FIMM HiPrep

FIMM HiPREP is specialized in technologies for high-end sample preparations. The unit offers high-quality RNA and DNA isolation, clean-up, quality control and normalization services.

FIMM IT
FIMM Sample Storage Unit

FIMM Sample Storage provides low-cost, secure and controlled storage of samples in liquid nitrogen vapor phase (-190°C). Sample storage service is available to all research groups on the campus and elsewhere for storing small and medium sized sample collections.

FIMM Single Cell Analytics

FIMM Single-Cell Analytics (SCA) unit develops and provides single-cell transcriptomics and genomics services nationally and internationally.
