FIMM PhD and Postdoc Council

The FIMM PhD and Postdoc Council is an independent researcher body that provides the organisational framework needed to effectively organise events, as well as the autonomy to explore and develop new ideas supporting doctoral and postdoctoral research training. New council members are nominated following a bi-annual cycle, using a voting system.
What do we do?
  • Represent and advocate for junior researchers before FIMM leadership.
  • Build a supportive and connected community through social and scientific events.
  • Foster collaboration within FIMM and with external partners in academia and industry.
  • Support career development by promoting soft skills, peer networking, and knowledge sharing.

All students and postdocs at FIMM are welcome to bring new ideas, thoughts, and feedback to any council member and are highly encouraged to get involved in planning events! Write us to fimm-council@helsinki.fi
