We invite you to a special anniversary seminar to celebrate the Digital Geography Lab's 15 years of advancing spatial big data research for fair and sustainable societies. The seminar will present and reflect upon the key research of the Lab, the current works of the alumni and thoughts from key stakeholders across municipalities, government and industry. The day will provide glimpses into the past, present and future of spatial big data research in Finland, Europe and beyond!
The seminar will be held on Friday, 7th February 2025 (9.00 to 18.00) at Unioninkatu 33, Helsinki.
The main topics will be Accessibility and mobility in urban environments (morning session, part 1), Mobility, segregation and diversity in urban environments (morning session, part 2), New insights from regional (mobility) perspective: regional mobility flows, border regions & multilocal lifestyles (afternoon session, part 1), Understanding people in nature: Outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism (afternoon session, part 2).
