HSSH organized a workshop on working with video data in collaboration with The Science Basement at the end of November.

HSSH in collaboration with the Science Basement arranged a workshop on working with video data at the end of November. The workshop focused on best practices and useful tips on acquiring and analyzing video data.

The first part of the workshop focused on introducing what the HSSH Interlab has to offer in terms of capturing video and audio data for research. Interlab is a joint laboratory managed by HSSH, and dedicated to multimodal individual and interpersonal research in situ or in the field, available for all researchers at the City Centre Campus. Read more about the resources offered on the Interlab website.

In the second part of the workshop photographer Antti Verkasalo showed the attendees how to make their video and audio look and sound professional by covering the basics of composition, lighting and using microphones.

The final portion of the workshop was a comprehensive crash course on podcasting offered by the Science Basement. From start to finish they covered everything a good podcast production requires from planning to marketing and everything in between.
