HiDATA builds on the existing, strong research in various areas of data science, and aims to provide novel synergies across disciplines.
Sasu Tarkoma is a professor of Computer Science and Head of the Department of Computer Science. His research interests include distributed systems and platforms, mobile computing, and mobile/urban data analytics. He has in the past investigated cloud computing for High Energy Physics, collaborative data analytics methods for crowdsourced smartphone sensing data, and future Internet architectures. He is currently leading the MegaSense consortium that combines the expertise of Atmospheric Sciences, Geosciences, and Computer Science as well as the Nokia Center for Advanced Research (NCAR).

HiDATA is a multidisciplinary network of academics.
