In tumour research, Professor Antti Sukura leads the study of canine mammary tumours.

Mammary tumours are the most common neoplastic disease in unspayed female dogs and the third most common in spayed female dogs. In canine mammary tumour research, gene mutations and mechanisms of mitigation have been sidelined.

Genetic and epigenetic changes in canine mammary tumours

This doctoral study aims to determine genetic (the DNA molecule) and epigenetic changes in canine mammary tumours. Epigenetic changes influence the function of genes without altering the sequence of bases in the DNA molecule.
