Impact through cooperation

The Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry contributes to society and academia in many ways ‒ our research and expertise provides society with valuable new knowledge and trains new experts in its many fields.

The social impact of the Faculty stems from the fact that our experts and research results serve society and provide support for decision-making both in Finland and abroad. In addition, our alumni act as valuable messengers and sources of information for the Faculty in its community relations.

Our teachers and researchers are members of various expert bodies, such as the National Nutrition Council of Finland and other workgroups in ministries and the EU. We actively engage in teaching and research cooperation with government research institutes and companies in the field.

Our goal is to conduct spearhead research and to produce useful and applicable knowledge. Furthermore, it is vital that our teaching be up-to-date and meet employers’ needs, as well as that our students network with potential employers already during their studies.
