TRANSMED accepts students from suitable educational backgrounds, such as life sciences and natural sciences, engineering, psychology etc. The diverse backgrounds combined with TRANSMED studies give our students unique skill sets for their future careers, and a course in career planning helps them to recognize, express and market their individual competencies.
The curriculum is organized in close collaboration with researchers and units in the Faculty of Medicine and the Helsinki University Hospital, culminating in clinical rounds in the Helsinki University Hospital. The students can freely choose from two study tracks: Translational Research, which supports academic careers, and Health Industry and Innovations, designed to provide skills and contacts for careers in health industry. Both study tracks provide a solid basis and eligibility for doctoral (PhD) studies.
