Professor Dorota Anna Gozdecka specialises in human rights, legal theory and migration law. Her research critically investigates how perceptions of the 'other' shape legal frameworks, legal legitimacy and societal attitudes toward marginalised communities. Her recent scholarship puts a particular emphasis on the role of visual representation and the gaze in constructing these narratives. Professor Gozdecka is the author of ‘Rights, Religious Pluralism and the Recognition of Difference’ (Routledge 2016) and ‘Visual Power, Representation and Migration Law’ (EUP 2024) and the editor of ‘Feminism, Post-Feminism and Legal Theory’ (Routledge 2019) as well as ‘Europe at the Edge of Pluralism’ (Intersentia 2015). She teaches courses in legal theory, human rights and legal methodology.
Professor Muravyeva is a socio-legal researcher with interest in gender and law, human rights of women and LGBTQI+ people, gender-based violence, gender mainstreaming and international law. She teachers courses in gender and law as well as in Russian law which is her secondary specialisation. Professor Muravyeva serves as international consultant in human rights of women for the UNDP missions in Central Asia and as an external expert for EUAA.
