Welcome to the 19th Annual Aleksanteri Conference

The 2019 occasion of the Aleksanteri Conference will bring together leading experts in Russian, East European, and Eurasian studies, and in digital humanities to examine how society, politics, economy, and culture across Eurasia are reconfigured in the context of past and future technological change. We also aim at addressing methodological questions that are particular to the study of the digital transformation in Eurasia, as well as linguistic, legal, and ethical controversies involved in working with digitized research materials. 19th Annual Aleksanteri Conference will be held in Helsinki on 23–25 October 2019.

About Aleksanteri Conferences

The Aleksanteri Conference is an annual, multidisciplinary, international event organised by the Aleksanteri Institute, the Finnish Centre for Russian and Eastern European Studies, at the University of Helsinki since 2001. Aleksanteri Conferences have attracted broad interest among researchers and policy-makers in a wide variety of disciplines, both in Finland and abroad, who are interested in the development of post-socialist countries.
