Registration

All participants are kindly requested to register for the conference by filling an online registration form. Please note that we are not offering an interactive hybrid conference. Only plenary sessions will be streamed, with no chance for online observers to comment or ask questions. Online participation is limited to one online presenter/discussant per panel/roundtable and online participant can participate remotely only in their own session.
Registration details

Registration opens 10 June 2024 and all presenting participants should register for the conference by 6 September 2024 and non-presenting participants by 14 October by filling in this online registration form.  When registering, you will be required to pay the registration fee (please see the next section for fee amounts and exemptions). Fees are payable with a credit card, a mobile payment system (MobilePay, Siirto), or through an online bank transfer (Finnish banks). Payments are made through Verifone Finland Oy, BlueCommerce website. If you have any questions about payment or technical problems related to the online registration, please contact aleksanteri-conference@helsinki.fi.

In-person participation: paper presenter / chair / discussant:
early bird: 130 € (available 10-30 June)
regular: 170 € (available 1 July- 6 September)
non-presenting attendees: 65€  (available 10 June - 30 September)
online participation (limited to one/session): paper presenter / discussant:  50 €

Keynote speakers, staff & board members of the Aleksanteri Institute: FREE (Please contact conference organisers at aleksanteri-conference@helsinki.fi to receive a link to free registration.

For Ukrainian scholars, the Aleksanteri Institute can offer a limited number of travel grants and/or conference fee waiver grants. Apply by 16 June 2024 via this e-form.

Registration fees are exempt from VAT. 

The registration fee includes
The in-person participation fee includes admission to all scientific events of the conference, conference materials, free Wi-Fi, coffee/tea during breaks listed in the programme, admission to a reception on 24 October hosted by the City of Helsinki. 

The online participation fee includes participation to your own session.

Cancellations and refunds
If you need to cancel your participation or make changes after you have registered, please contact the conference organisers at aleksanteri-conference@helsinki.fi  as soon as possible so that we can introduce changes to the programme.
Regrettably, we will not be able to offer refunds. 

Conference programme
The conference programme, including details of plenary sessions and panels, will be published in early September. The preliminary conference timetable will be published as soon as possible on the conference website.
