The symposium is organised by the RELIACT research project (‘Religious Literacy in Action: An Experimental Inquiry into the Impact of Religious Education Courses in Finnish Upper Secondary Schools’). The project is led by Professor Titus Hjelm, and it is located in the Study of Religion at the University of Helsinki, Finland.
In the project, we assess the effects of increased religious literacy on attitudes towards pluralism. For this purpose, we suggest a new empirical tool for measuring religious literacy. We are excited to share our research and its findings with you in the symposium! We also look forward to stimulating discussions on other ongoing work in religious literacy and possible new directions for research.
