The city of Lahti

About

The city of Lahti is located less than an hour from Helsinki Airport by train or car, and an hour from the harbours of Helsinki. As a medium-sized Finnish city, Lahti delivers both excellent services and ample green space. No rush hours or sitting in cars for hours. This means you can use your time effectively. 

Built in connection with the Railway Station, Lahti Travel Centre is the transport hub of the region bringing local and long-haul traffic and different modes of transport together seamlessly.

Getting to Lahti

Lahti is easy to reach from Helsinki and other parts of Finland. There are great train and bus connections to Lahti.

By train

When coming from Helsinki you can use the long-distance and/or commuter trains to get to Lahti.

If you come from the Helsinki Airport, you can take the airport train (I and P commuter trains) and change trains in Tikkurila station to get to Lahti.

Z commuter train travels all the way to Lahti from the Helsinki Central station as well as some of the long-distance trains. These trains all stop also at Pasila and Tikkurila stations.

The train stations address in Lahti is Mannerheiminkatu 15. The train station is part of Lahti Travel Centre.

By bus

When coming from Helsinki region or elsewhere in Finland you can use the bus connections to Lahti which are operated by different companies. You can look at the different connections and timetables from , where you can also book your ticket.

By car

The Lahti region is along excellent traffic connections and easy to reach from all directions.

Tips for your free time in Lahti

Malva & Malski

is located in the city centre, in a historical old Malski brewery building. In addition to the intriguing exhibitions of Malva, Malski houses a museum shop and a tempting restaurant world including a micro-brewery, cafe and bakery as well as a lunch and dinner restaurant.

Lahti Harbour

Although the lake cruises are on a winter break while the lakes are frozen, go for a stroll in the Harbour area. There you’ll find beautiful modern wood architecture, such as . Some of the cafes and restaurants are also open, for example which is famous for its enormous cinnamon rolls.  For more strolling, climb up the the view stairs to .

Trying to figure out the source of Finnish happiness? One source is definitely the easy access to our pure nature – even from the Market Square it is just a few minutes’ walk to Salpausselkä forest. There you’ll find one of the most wellknown sights of , for hiking or and of course tens of kilometres of ski tracks.
