As part of the People and Planet 2026 conference, a workshop aimed at companies will also be organised. The goal of the workshop is to bring SMEs, along with their technologies and solutions, into major future projects related to sports infrastructure. In the Lahti region, several new construction projects are set to begin in the coming years, such as a multi-purpose arena, a football stadium, a swimming stadium, hotels, and a new university campus. All of these projects represent significant investments, each having a considerable impact on sports, physical activity, well-being, and the environment.
The workshop will consist of separate keynote speeches and facilitated discussions around various themes. Table discussion topics include new solutions and materials in construction, developing multi-purpose spaces, implementing new technologies, and leveraging large-scale projects as international platforms.
