The University of Helsinki Doctoral School, in collaboration with the University of Eastern Finland, organized a two-day summer school for PhD students in health sciences from across the Nordic countries on 19-20 August, 2024. We welcomed nearly 200 participants to the heart of Helsinki at the Main Building of the University of Helsinki!
The annual Nordic PhD Summer School, which rotates among the Nordic countries each year, provides an invaluable opportunity for PhD students to engage in meaningful interactions and scientific discussions. This year’s programme included lectures, workshops, and poster presentations, all aimed at equipping participants with the skills and knowledge essential for becoming leaders in health sciences.
The theme for this year's summer school was Future Expertise in Health Sciences, with the following key topics:
Professional Development through Self-Management
Revolution in Research Methodology
Science in Media
Science-Driven Healthcare Policy and Decision Making
Study credits:
PhD students from the University of Helsinki (UH) and University of Eastern Finland (UEF): 1 cr will we automatically recorded to UH, and UEF participants who will attend the summer school with a poster.
PhD students from other universities: participants from other universities will receive a certificate, and can request credits from their own universities and according to the instructions of their own universities.
