In connection with the conference, a pre-conference for doctoral researchers and supervisors will be organized on October 24, 2023. Doctoral researchers submit and receive a feedback on their texts (approx. 10–12 pages, excluding references). The submitted text can, for example, be an article manuscript that will be included in the thesis, a part of the summary chapters (“kappa”) or apart of the thesis as a monograph. Please provide reading instructions to indicate on which aspects you wish to receive feedback. The texts can be written in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, or English.
The doctoral researchers are divided into groups where they read and give feedback on the group's texts. Each doctoral researcher will be the main reader of a text during the pre-conference, but everyone is expected to read all texts (approx. 4). The doctoral researchers also receive feedback from senior researchers consisting of possible supervisors and researchers at the University of Helsinki and Åbo Akademi University. The groups work mainly in Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish, but if necessary, discussions can also be held in English.
The texts are submitted three weeks before the pre-conference, no later than October 3, 2023, to Sofia Jusslin (sofia.jusslin@abo.fi). The texts are distributed to the groups two weeks before the pre-conference.

Registration to the pre-conference takes place in connection with the conference registration no later than September 21, 2023 (extended deadline). In connection with the registration, doctoral researchers should also submit a working title of the text they intend to submit.
