Accommodation and Traveling
We are holding a limited number of rooms in certain accommodation options for the time period of 11.-17.6.2017. The list of accommodation options is listed below:
OPTION 1: TÖÖLÖ TOWERS
Töölö Towers of the University of Helsinki are located in Töölö near the sea, a convenient 10-minute bus ride or a 25-min walking distance from the conference venue. We are holding a limited number (30; 105€ per night) of single rooms and single rooms with kitchen (5; 128€ per night), inclusive of breakfast. These can be booked starting from 8th of January 2018 by emailing the Töölö Towers (unihome (at)helsinki.fi) and using the booking code "MMN2018". Please note that to get the discounted price from Töölö Towers, you need to contact them directly via email (unihome(at)helsinki.fi).
OPTION 2: SCANDIC GRAND MARINA HOTEL
Scandic Grand Marina Hotel is located by seaside in Katajanokka, a 25-minute tram ride away from the conference venue. We are holding a limited number of single and double rooms.

OPTION 3: HOSTEL DOMUS ACADEMICA
Hostel Domus Academica offers convenient single and double rooms with a bathroom and a kitchenette. Breakfast is served in the restaurant below for 8,5 € per person (not included in the room charge). The hostel is located in the city centre, in Kamppi, a 20-minute bus ride to the conference venue. Please note that the wireless internet is currently being built into the hostel, and it is not yet certain whether it will be operational by the time of the conference. A guest can however rent a router for 5€ (for the entire duration of his/her stay). Also, please note that the discounted prices are available only between June 11th to 17th. For other nights, normal prices apply (i.e. 75€ for a single room).
Single room with kitchenette: 55-65 € per night, breakfast not included
Double room with kitchenette: 65-75 € per night, breakfast not included
OPTION 4: HOTEL CUMULUS CITY MEILAHTI
Hotel Cumulus City Meilahti is located right next to the conference venue. No rooms have been pre-reserved for the conference; however, a University of Helsinki special offer of -15% holds for all room bookings.

Traveling to and in Helsinki
Helsinki is easiest reachable by airplane, with direct flights from 314 locations around the world! Additional options are ferries from Stockholm, Sweden and Tallinn, Estonia, and trains from St. Petersburg, Russia. From the Airport, you can take a train straight to city center for 5.50€ (remember to buy your ticket from a vending machine inside the airport terminal as there are no ticket sales on commuter trains).
