Midsummer is one of the most important celebrations in Finland. Midsummer’s Eve (Friday, June 19th) is a public holiday, and people typically spend the entire weekend at a summer cottage or camping in a national park. Many people stop working and head out into nature already on Thursday afternoon (June 18th); for this reason, the conference will conclude in the early afternoon.
During Midsummer, Helsinki experiences around 19 hours of light. Sunset is around 10.50pm, while sunrise is at 3.50am. The sky never gets fully dark. For more info and inspiration on how to celebrate Midsummer, you may check
