From past to present, North America has offered to many individuals and communities an enduring ground for possibilities, competition, and hope. Yet, while the continent is characterized by prosperity and democracy, it is also marred by inequalities and environmental problems. The distinctiveness of North America emerges from a myriad of experiments and experiences, sounds and silences. The upcoming 2022 Maple Leaf and Eagle Conference seeks to address these varied physical, mental, and social landscapes.
For decades, the Maple Leaf and Eagle Conference in North American Studies has offered a dynamic venue for exploring and explaining the phenomenon that is North America. We thrive on being crossdisciplinary and multidisciplinary, welcoming a wide range of academic specialties and research traditions.

Please submit your proposal (max. 300 words) for a 20-minute presentation, a short bio and contact information through ELOMAKE by October 29, 2021. We accept individual papers and panel proposals for three papers. We also accept poster and roundtable proposals. Some conference sessions will enable remote presentations via Zoom, so please indicate your needs in your proposal.
