IWOTA 2023 is part of the series of annual conferences on operator theory and its applications. Started in 1981 with the first meeting held in Santa Monica by Bill Helton, the IWOTA meetings have become the largest annual operator theory conference. The 34th meeting at the University of Helsinki is the first time the series comes to Scandinavia.

The proceedings of IWOTA workshops are published in the book series Operator Theory: Advances and Applications by Springer.
