Inverse problems in analysis and geometry

The conference "Inverse problems in analysis and geometry" on August 1-5, 2022 in Helsinki, Finland, focused on recent progress in the mathematical theory of inverse problems and related methods in analysis and geometry. The conference also celebrated the 70th birthday of Gunther Uhlmann, who is a leading expert in the field of inverse problems and former FiDiPro professor at the University of Helsinki.

The aim of the workshop was to bring together some of the most prominent experts in the mathematical theory of inverse problems and closely related fields to present state- of-the-art results and address open problems. The conference also provided a venue for promising young researchers to present their work, and to foster interaction between experts in different disciplines.

Junior participants may also be interested in the Jyväskylä summer school, easily accessible by train from Helsinki, with courses on inverse problems on August 8-12.

The conference is part of the activities of the Finnish Inverse Problems Society and of the Centre of Excellence in Inverse Modelling and Imaging. The organizers gratefully acknowledge support from the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies, the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters (Mathematics fund), the Finnish Society of Science and Letters, Horizon 2020 under ERC CoG 770924, and the University of Helsinki.
