The theme for the Finnish Conference of Linguistics 2025 is Language and sustainability. What is sustainability in linguistics? What does it mean in relation to languages, language use and language speakers? How is it produced in language, for example in politics, the business world or civic activities? What are the new, sustainable ways of talking about nature and taking responsibility for human activity and its consequences?
We invite linguists to discuss the meaning of sustainability in linguistics, as well as the ways in which it is talked about. Critical reflections are also welcome.
